Balapitiya Grama Niladhari Division is a small administrative area in the Balapitiya Divisional Secretariat, Galle District, in Sri Lanka’s Southern Province. Its code is 89. The division covers 0.74 square kilometers and is about 48 meters above sea level. In 2012, around 1,855 people lived there, with a density of about 2,507 people per square kilometer. The population is mostly Sinhalese (99.6%) and Buddhist (99.1%). The nearby areas include Madu Ganga and Balapitiya. It is bordered by the Berathuduwa, Brahmanawatta South, and Elathota Grama Niladhari Divisions. The larger Balapitiya Divisional Secretariat also has a Sinhalese and Buddhist majority (98.1% and 97.9%, respectively).
