Singles (miniseries)
Singles is a 1984 Australian miniseries about a woman in her thirties and her range of relationships. The series is made up of five self-contained plays, each focusing on a different man. The central character, Alison, a Sydney doctor, ends a seven-year relationship, and over 18 months the five plays follow her experiences with five different men. The Sun Herald praised Elizabeth Alexander’s performance as “fraught and fine.”
Written by Robert Caswell, Linda Aaronson, Michael Aitkens, Alma De Groen and Anne Brooksbank, and directed by David Goldie, Ted Robinson, Graham Thorburn, Helene Harris and Ric Pellizerri, Singles stars Elizabeth Alexander and features Barry Otto, Robert Coleby and Richard Moir among others. It was produced by Martin Williams for ABC and originally aired from 14 August to 11 September 1984.
