Simon Lappin
Simon Lappin, born 25 January 1983 in Glasgow, is a Scottish former professional footballer who mainly played on the left side of defence or midfield. He began his career with St Mirren, helping them reach the Scottish Premier League and scoring in the 2005 Scottish Challenge Cup final. In 2007 he moved to Norwich City for £100,000, later spending time on loan at Motherwell and Cardiff City before making Cardiff his home in 2013. A short loan spell at Sheffield United followed, and he then played for St Johnstone (2014–2016), York City (2016–2017), King's Lynn Town (2017–2018), and Wroxham (2018–2019) as a player-coach.
Lappin represented Scotland at youth level, earning 16 caps across the U19, U20, and U21 teams. Across his club career, he made around 398 league appearances and scored 24 goals. He is 5 ft 11 in tall and grew up in Glasgow.
