Shoe Cove, Notre Dame Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador
Shoe Cove is a local service district in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. It is in Subdivision O of Division No. 8 on the island of Newfoundland. The community is unincorporated and governed by a local service district committee, with Sandy Newbury as the chair. The population was 16 in 2021. The area uses Newfoundland Time (UTC-3:30; UTC-2:30 in summer), and the phone area code is 709.
Historically, Shoe Cove housed a Spacecraft Tracking and Data Acquisition Network station from the early 1960s to support Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo missions. Beginning in 1977, the site was used by the Canada Centre for Remote Sensing and it closed in 1982.
