The Morane-Saulnier AF, also known as the Morane-Saulnier Type AF or MoS 28, was a French single-seat fighter prototype from 1917. It was Morane-Saulnier’s first fighter biplane, even though the company mainly built monoplanes. The AF’s fuselage looked like the Type AI parasol monoplane and the earlier AC, but this aircraft was designed as a biplane. Only one was built. The AF first flew on 23 June 1917 and was tested by the French military late in 1917, but it was not produced. It was surpassed by the SPAD XIII, Morane-Saulnier Type AI, and Nieuport 28. In November 1917, a floatplane version with a single central float was tested but not adopted. Variant: Morane-Saulnier AI.
