Shane Reck
Shane Reck (born 1997) is an Irish hurler from Enniscorthy, County Wexford. He plays for the Oylegate-Glenbrien club and for the Wexford senior hurling team. He usually lines up as a defender, often at right corner-back for his club and at left wing-back for the county.
While studying at the Institute of Technology, Carlow, Reck played for the college hurling team in Fitzgibbon Cup campaigns. He joined Oylegate-Glenbrien as a youngster and worked his way up to the senior team.
On 15 October 2016, Reck played right wing-back in the Wexford Intermediate Championship final, helping Oylegate-Glenbrien beat Adamstown 1-14 to 0-10 and win promotion to the top flight.
Reck was first drafted into Wexford’s under-21 team for the 2017 Leinster Championship, debuting on 21 June 2017 in a win over Carlow. He played in the Leinster final that year, where Wexford lost to Kilkenny.
He joined the Wexford senior panel in 2019. His National League debut came on 27 January 2019 as a substitute in a 1-17 to 2-11 defeat by Limerick. He made his Leinster Championship debut on 19 May 2019 in a draw with Dublin. Reck won his first Leinster Championship medal on 30 June 2019 when Wexford beat Kilkenny 1-23 to 0-23 in the final.
