Abhishek Singh (artist)
Abhishek Singh (born July 1982 in Gwalior) is an Indian graphic novelist and artist known for reimagining myths and ancient philosophies to explore environmental and spiritual themes. He studied Animation and Film Design at India's National Institute of Design. He wrote and illustrated Krishna: A Journey Within for Image Comics, becoming the first Indian-descent creator published by Image Comics in North America. He also illustrated Ramayana 3392 A.D. and India Authentic.
Singh works across fine art, comics, animation and virtual reality, creating futuristic fables and new takes on Indian myths. His paintings and drawings have been shown in exhibitions such as the Los Angeles County Museum of Art's Heroes and Villains: the Battle for Good in India's Comics and the Asia Society in Houston. He made a virtual reality film with Deepak Chopra about using VR as a therapeutic and future medical tool. He has designed animation properties for Cartoon Network, Hong Kong and India, and served briefly as art director on UTV's Arjun: The Warrior Prince. He also contributed a sequence for Juanjo Guarnido's Freak Kitchen and has worked as a concept artist on other projects.
