The Law Society of Zimbabwe (LSZ) is a professional body formed in 1981 that registers lawyers and regulates how law firms operate in Zimbabwe. Based in Harare, it serves the whole country. Its members include all registered lawyers in private practice, business, and civil service. The LSZ aims to support the legal profession, promote the rule of law, and build public trust in the justice system. It actively fights corruption by training lawyers and law firms in anti-corruption, anti-bribery, fraud, and asset tracing, and by working with the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission. It also partnered with the Judicial Services Commission, Messenger of Court, and Sheriff’s Office to create ACT (Against Corruption Together) to improve justice delivery. The Society is governed by a Council; representatives are elected by members. The current president is Lison Ncube and the vice president is Rachel Chibaya, with two-year terms.
