Shahid Shamsuzzaman, known as Shamsuzzaman, was a Bengali freedom fighter in the Mukti Bahini who was killed during the Bangladesh Liberation War. He was posthumously awarded Bir Uttom by the Government of Bangladesh.

He was born in Shonar Char village, Meghna, in Tipperah district (then part of East Bengal under Pakistan). He came from a Sunni Bengali family; his parents were Muhammad Dawlat Husayn and Begum Ayetunnesa, and he had several siblings, including a sister named Begum Momtaz who was alive as of 2011.

Shamsuzzaman studied soil science at the University of Dhaka. When the Liberation War began, he left his studies to join the Mukti Bahini. He trained for 28 days and joined the Eighth East Bengal Regiment under Z-Force.

On August 4, his unit attacked a Pakistan Army position near Nakshi BOP in Jhenaigati, Sherpur (Sector 11). About 25 fighters took part, including several trained civilians. They fought the Pakistani Army and moved toward the enemy post as artillery fire opened. Shamsuzzaman was killed by a landmine while advancing to within about 50 yards of the target.

He is remembered as a brave fighter who gave his life for Bangladesh's independence.
