Sebastiano Cipriani (1662–1738) was an Italian architect who worked mainly in Rome during the late Baroque period. Born in Siena, he moved to Rome in 1683 to join Carlo Rainaldi’s workshop. From 1686 to 1690 he helped finish the Palazzo Mancini on Via del Corso. His design for the main altar at Sant’Ignazio was not chosen, and Andrea Pozzo’s design was used instead. Cipriani also created funeral catafalques for prominent people and, with Giovanni Battista Contini, helped complete the Oratory of San Filippo in Macerata. He died in Rome.
