Showdown (Rise of the Northstar album)
Showdown is the third studio album by French metal band Rise of the Northstar. It was released on April 7, 2023, through Atomic Fire Records, and runs 35 minutes and 34 seconds. The music blends metalcore, groove metal, thrash metal, nu metal, and hardcore punk.
The release followed a 2022 hiatus after allegations of domestic violence involving bassist Fabien Lahaye; Lahaye has indicated he began legal proceedings. Rise of the Northstar reformed on January 20, 2023 and announced Showdown, also releasing the music video for the single One Love that day.
Singles from the album include One Love (January 21, 2023), Showdown (March 17, 2023), and Crank It Up (June 18, 2024). The album was met with positive reception from fans and critics.
