Scriptorium (website)
Scriptorium is an online digital library and newspaper archive run by the Cantonal and University Library of Lausanne (BCU), which is part of the University of Lausanne in Vaud, Switzerland. It opened on December 7, 2012, with more than a million pages of digitized newspapers from the Vaud region. The site is free for the public and offers full-text search across its collections. The project was supported by the Tamedia publishing group and the Swiss National Library to help preserve the canton’s history. The first digitized papers were 24 heures and Feuille d'avis de Lausanne. In 2013, the library reported about 2.97 million visits in its first full year. By 2022, Scriptorium had grown to around 7.5 million pages across 120 titles. It is available in French and English, and users can print, email, or download pages, searching by keyword, date, or publication.
