Location
Garswood, St Helens, Merseyside, England. It sits on the electrified Merseytravel Liverpool to Wigan line, about 15 miles northeast of Liverpool Lime Street. Station code: GSWF. Fare zone: A1.

Operator
The station is managed by Northern Trains and the trains are branded Merseyrail for ticketing.

Layout
Two platforms. Platform 1 serves the northbound service toward Liverpool; Platform 2 serves the southbound toward Wigan.

Facilities
Ticket office on Platform 1 (open seven days a week) and a waiting room on Platform 2. There are customer help points, digital information displays and timetable boards. Step-free access is available to Platform 1; Platform 2 is reached via a footbridge with steps.

History
Opened on 1 December 1869 by the Lancashire Union Railway on the St Helens–Blackburn route. It later became part of the London and North Western Railway, with through trains to Liverpool via Huyton starting in 1871. Passenger services on the Wigan–Chorley/Blackburn line ended in January 1960.

Services
Monday to Saturday daytime: trains every 30 minutes between Liverpool Lime Street and Wigan North Western, with some peak trains extending to Preston or Blackpool North. Sundays: hourly, with trains to Preston and Blackpool North.
