Saugus Advertiser
The Saugus Advertiser was a weekly newspaper serving Saugus, Massachusetts. It was the town’s official newspaper and printed Saugus’ legal notices.
Founded in 1946 by Colonel Alfred Woodward, he ran the paper until his death in 1970. His wife Virginia then took over and, in 1983, sold the paper to Andrew P. Quigley, who also published several nearby papers. The Advertiser later changed hands to Neil P. Collins and Mary L. N. McGrew, who sold it in 1990 to North Shore Weeklies. In 1996 North Shore Weeklies was dissolved by its parent company, Community Newspaper Company, which was later bought by GateHouse Media and merged into GateHouse Media New England in 2011. In 2022, Gannett ceased publishing the Saugus Advertiser. The paper’s offices were at 75 Sylvan Street, Danvers, MA 01923.
