Lego Harry Potter
Lego Harry Potter is a Lego theme based on the Harry Potter books and films. It is licensed from Warner Bros. The sets recreate important scenes, vehicles and characters from the stories.
The first Lego Harry Potter sets came out in 2001 to match the release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. More sets followed with each new film and book, focusing mainly on Harry’s early years at Hogwarts. The line paused after 2007 and was revived in 2010 and 2011.
In 2018, Lego brought back more sets tied to the Wizarding World, including features from Fantastic Beasts. The main focus remained Harry Potter’s adventures at Hogwarts, but later waves covered other films and spin-offs as well.
Lego Harry Potter has also expanded into video games and crossovers. There were Lego Harry Potter video games (Years 1–4 released in 2010 and Years 5–7 in 2011), and add-ons for Lego Dimensions in 2016 and 2017. The theme has released collectible minifigures and special sets tied to different parts of the story.
Over the years Lego released many famous sets, such as Diagon Alley, the Great Hall, and the Hogwarts Express. In 2020, Diagon Alley was released as a major set, and in 2021 a Hogwarts Crests set came out under the Lego Art line, alongside the 20th-anniversary celebration with golden minifigures and collectible cards.
Since 2018, Lego has also released two series of Harry Potter Collectible Minifigures. Two large, highly detailed display sets and other big builds have followed, including a massive Hogwarts Castle line that started in 2024 and is ongoing.
The Lego Harry Potter brand has grown to include many waves of sets, video games, and crossover products, keeping the magic alive for fans around the world. The line has evolved from its early days in yellow-faced minifigures to more realistic flesh-toned minifigures and continues to be a popular way to relive the Harry Potter story in LEGO form.
