Sambor Wildlife Sanctuary (Khmer: ដែនជម្រកសត្វពសំបូរ) is a protected area in eastern Cambodia. It lies in Sambor district, Kratié Province. The sanctuary covers about 501 square kilometers (50,093 hectares) and was established on 25 October 2018. It is managed by Cambodia’s Ministry of Environment.

Why it was created: The sanctuary aims to protect ecosystems, maintain environmental balance, conserve natural resources, and help reduce climate change and disaster risks. It also seeks to involve local communities and other stakeholders in protecting and using natural resources sustainably.

Biodiversity: The area, together with nearby Prek Prasab Wildlife Sanctuary, protects some of the region’s most intact forests and river habitats with low human density. Surveys in 2006–2007 found at least 11 large mammal species, 56 amphibian and reptile species, 683 plant species, at least 15 bird species, and 223 native fish species.
