Salem United Church of Christ

Salem United Church of Christ, once known as Salem German Evangelical Reformed Church (Deutsche Evangelisch Reformierte Salems Kirche), is located at 1425 Sycamore Street in Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. Built in 1867, it originally held services in German until the 1930s. The church is part of the United Church of Christ, which grew from the German Reformed tradition. It has housed Gabriel’s Corner and the Know Theatre of Cincinnati. Salem United Church of Christ is a contributing property in the Over-the-Rhine Historic District, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
