Safari World is a big tourist attraction in Bangkok, Thailand, made up of two parks: Marine Park and Safari Park. It opened on February 17, 1988, and covers about 480 acres (190 hectares) originally, with later expansion to around 200 more acres. It’s the first entertainment park in Thailand to be listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) in 1995.

Safari Park is a large drive-through area that mimics a savannah. The route is about eight kilometers long and takes around 50 minutes. You’ll see big herds of animals such as giraffes (including more than 200), zebras, wildebeest, rhinos, antelopes, camels, and many African and Asian hoofed animals. There are separate drive-throughs for carnivores too, including lions and tigers. The park also has a big waterbird sanctuary.

Marine Park is where most of the shows and displays happen. Highlights include daily shows like the Dolphin show, the Spy War show (featuring Cylon), an Orangutan boxing show, Bird Show, Cowboy stunt show, Elephant show, and Sea Lion show. Other popular experiences include the Jungle Cruise, the Safari Terrace where visitors can feed giraffes, and the Mini World aviary where you can feed free-flying birds such as sun conures. There are many other bird and animal exhibits, including tiger enclosures, lemurs, manatees, koalas, and large aquariums with various fish. There’s also a paddle-boat lake with swans nearby.

Safari World has faced animal-welfare criticism from groups like Monkey World and PETA, particularly regarding orangutans and the keeping of cubs in cramped cages. The park’s operating permit expired in October 2024. In 2025, a zookeeper was killed by a pack of lions, leading to the closure of its big-cat enclosures.
