Ryan Peters (footballer)
Ryan Vincent Peters (born 21 August 1987) is an English former semi-professional footballer who played mainly as a right back and is the interim manager of Maidenhead United.
Born in Wandsworth, England, Peters came through the Brentford youth system and made his first team debut in August 2004. He started his Brentford career as a forward/winger before settling as a right back. He played for Brentford until 2008, with several loan spells at Gravesend & Northfleet, Crawley Town, AFC Wimbledon and Margate during that time. He joined Margate permanently in 2008 and then moved to Braintree Town in 2009, where he won the Conference South title in 2010–11 and made over 200 appearances.
In 2015, Peters moved to Maidenhead United, helping them win the National League South title in his first season with the club. He retired from playing in 2019 but stayed in football as a coach. He worked with Brentford’s Community Sports Trust and later coached Brentford Women (2015–2017). He returned to Maidenhead United as a player-coach, then became assistant manager after the 2018–19 season.
Peters was appointed interim manager of Maidenhead United on 30 November 2025. He also played for England Futsal in 2008 and is known for his long involvement with Maidenhead United, Brentford and several non-league clubs.
Over his senior career, Peters played in more than 350 games and scored 14 goals. He is also the godfather of former Brentford teammate Karleigh Osborne’s son.
