La Paz, Abra
La Paz is a small municipality in Abra province, in the Cordillera Administrative Region of the Philippines. It covers about 51.41 square kilometers and has around 16,000 residents as of 2024. The town lies roughly 13 kilometers from the provincial capital, Bangued, and about 419 kilometers from Manila.
La Paz is divided into 12 barangays. The area ranges from lowlands of about 29 meters above sea level to high elevations over 1,000 meters, with an average around 210 meters. The population density is about 310 people per square kilometer.
The local government is headed by Mayor Danielle Belyne B. Bernos and Vice Mayor Julbert B. Timbreza. La Paz is part of Abra’s lone congressional district.
Economy and people: Poverty was around 36% in 2021. In 2022, the municipality had revenue of about 152 million pesos, assets around 332 million, and expenditures about 135 million.
