Rumworth is an electoral ward of Bolton in Greater Manchester, England. It has about 16,250 residents (2011 census) and lies within the Bolton Metropolitan Borough in the North West of England.

Historically, Rumworth was part of the ancient parish of Deane in Lancashire, with St Mary’s Church as the parish church. The name appears in medieval records with several spellings. The area grew in the 19th century thanks to coal mining and cotton industries. Administratively, it moved through several changes: part joined Bolton Borough and the eastern area became Rumworth Ward in 1872, the western part became Deane in 1894, the parish was abolished and merged with Bolton in 1895, and by 1898 Deane was part of Bolton County Borough Deane-cum-Lostock Ward. In 1891 the parish had 6,754 people and covered about 1,244 acres (5.03 km2).

Geographically, the Church Brook flows into the River Croal along the northern boundary. Rumworth Lodge Reservoir lies to the west. The Bolton–Wigan road passes Deane Church, and the Bolton–Leigh road goes through Daubhill on the eastern side.
