Royal Thai Army Stadium, or สนามกีฬากองทัพบก, is a multi‑purpose football stadium in Phaya Thai, north Bangkok. It is owned by the Royal Security Command and seats about 20,000. Built in 1968–70 and renovated in 2015, the ground has a grass surface, a single covered stand on one side, three sides of terraced seating, and an athletics track around the pitch. It is mainly used for football and has hosted Thai clubs in international competitions (such as Bangkok University in the 2007 AFC Champions League and Osotsapa in the 2007 AFC Cup) as well as national team matches in events hosted by Thailand when the host is not playing. Other Bangkok stadiums include the National Stadium, Rajamangala Stadium, Thai-Japanese Stadium, and Chulalongkorn University Stadium. The project was approved in 1966, construction began in 1968 on about 61 rai, and it originally held 12,500 with facilities like tennis courts, petanque courts, a boxing center, and athlete housing. After the 1st Infantry Regiment moved to the Royal Security Command, the stadium no longer belongs to the Royal Thai Army, and Army United FC no longer plays there.
