Route 26 (Uruguay)
Route 26 is a national road in Uruguay, maintained by the Ministry of Transport and Public Works. It runs 486 km (302 miles) from west to east, starting at Route 3 near Paysandú and ending at Río Branco on the border with Brazil. The Kilometer Zero point is at the Route 3 junction. The road is named after Leandro Gómez, a politician and civil war hero.
It passes through Melo and Tacuarembó, with key intersections at:
- Route 3 near the western end
- Route 4 and Route 5 in Tacuarembó
- Route 44 in Ansina
- Route 6 and Route 7 in Melo
- Route 44 and Route 8 in Melo
- Route 18 in Río Branco
The Barão de Mauá International Bridge is associated with this route near the Brazil border.
