Rose is a small town in Waushara County, Wisconsin, United States. It covers about 34.9 square miles, almost all land, with a small amount of water, and sits about 1,100 feet above sea level. The unincorporated community of Heffron lies partly in Rose.

As of the 2000 census, Rose had 595 residents, 244 households, and 182 families. The population density was about 17 people per square mile, and there were 353 housing units. The racial makeup was about 98% White, with small numbers of African American and other races; about 3% were Hispanic or Latino.

Household details: 25% had children under 18, 63.9% were married couples, 7.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.4% were non-families. 20.1% of households were individuals, and 10.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.44 and the average family size was 2.78.

Age distribution: 20.5% under 18, 6.2% from 18 to 24, 25.2% from 25 to 44, 31.4% from 45 to 64, and 16.6% 65 or older. The median age was 44. For every 100 females, there were about 113 males (about 114 males per 100 females age 18 and over).

Income: the median household income was $34,792; the median family income was $40,417. Males earned a median of $31,250, females $22,639. The per capita income was $17,630. About 3.4% of families and 10.3% of the population were below the poverty line, including 8.0% of those under 18 and 12.3% of those 65 or older.
