Friedrich Paul Mahlo (July 28, 1883 – August 20, 1971) was a German mathematician. He was born in Coswig, Duchy of Anhalt, and died in Halle. In 1911 he introduced Mahlo cardinals in set theory and showed that the continuum hypothesis implies the existence of a Luzin set.
