Chiconamel (municipality)
Chiconamel is a municipality in Veracruz, Mexico, in the Huasteca Alta region. The municipal seat is the village of Chiconamel. The area covers 133.25 square kilometers and sits about 140 meters above sea level. In 2005, 6,811 people lived there, with 1,517 in the municipal seat. About 62% of residents spoke an indigenous language, mainly Nahuatl. A unique feature is that the municipality is split by a portion of Chalma, creating an eastern exclave.
