Lifelode
Lifelode is a fantasy novel by Jo Walton, published in 2009 by NESFA Press with an introduction by Sharyn November. In this world, thoughts, magic, and even time bend depending on how far east or west you are. Taveth, who can see the present, past, and future all at once, is the housekeeper at Applekirk Manor in the Marches, just far enough east for a little magic to work. The book won the 2010 Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Adult Literature and was on the honor list for the 2009 James Tiptree Jr. Award. Paul's Kincaid described it as ingenious and a large story told on a small scale, likening its everyday life continuing in the face of something extraordinary to Auden’s Musée des Beaux Arts.
