Edward-Isaac Dovere, born July 12, 1980, is an American journalist and the senior reporter for CNN. He previously wrote for The Atlantic and served as Politico’s Chief Washington Correspondent. Dovere grew up in Manhattan and earned a BA from Johns Hopkins University and an MA in intellectual history from the University of Chicago. He founded Manhattan Media publications City Hall and The Capitol (now City and State). In 2018, he won the Merriman Smith Memorial Award for an article about Barack Obama’s trip to Havana. His book Battle for the Soul: Inside the Democrats' Campaigns to Defeat Trump was published in May 2021 by Penguin Random House. He married Sarah Margalit Slobodien in 2011; they are Jewish.
