Reuben De Melo
Reuben De Melo is an Australian indie folk singer-songwriter. He was born in Goa, India, to Augustine and Maria De Melo and is from Maina Curtorim. He has a brother named Reuel and now lives in Perth with his wife, Olivia, and their three children. Before fame, he worked as a mining rigger.
He released his debut EP Consumed in 2018. His 2020 single “Sweet Oblivion” has over 4.5 million streams on Spotify.
In 2024, De Melo auditioned for The Voice Australia. He sang “I See Fire” in the blind auditions, and all four coaches turned. LeAnn Rimes used the Ultimate Block to keep the other coaches from joining, so he joined her team. Coaches praised him, with Lambert calling him a “diamond in the rough” and Miller-Heidke saying he could win the competition. He won The Voice Australia Season 13 on 27 October 2024, with the most viewer votes.
In May 2025, he released the lead single “Slow” from his second EP, When The Show’s All Over, which features six singles and was released on 12 September 2025. LeAnn Rimes invited him to perform on her Australian tour in late 2025.
De Melo is of Goan descent and continues to reside in Perth. The artist has three children with his wife Olivia.
