Blake Gillikin
Blake Gillikin is an American football punter for the Arizona Cardinals in the NFL. He was born on January 21, 1998, in Atlanta, Georgia, and played high school football at The Westminster Schools. He helped Westminster win the Georgia state championship in 2015 and was rated a five-star punter/kicker by Kohl’s Kicking Camp.
Gillikin played college football at Penn State from 2016 to 2019. He was a four-year starter and finished with a Penn State career punting average of 43.03 yards, second in school history. He had 53 punts downed inside the opponent’s 10-yard line and seven punts of 65 or more yards. He is also second all-time in Penn State net punting yards. In 2019 he averaged 42.2 yards per punt and earned All-Big Ten honorable mention, plus CoSIDA Academic All-American first-team recognition.
Undrafted in 2020, Gillikin signed with the New Orleans Saints. He started as the Saints’ punter in 2021 after Thomas Morstead was released. After the 2022 season, he became a free agent and re-signed with the Saints in March 2023. He was waived in August 2023 and later signed by the Arizona Cardinals in October 2023.
In Week 9 of the 2024 season, Gillikin punted four times with three inside the 20-yard line in a win over the Chicago Bears, earning NFC Special Teams Player of the Week. On October 11, 2025, he was placed on injured reserve due to a back injury.
Career NFL stats (through 2025): 271 punts for 13,132 yards, a punting average of 48.46, longest punt 77 yards, 99 punts inside the opponent’s 20, and 18 touchbacks.
