RedIRIS is Spain’s national network for research and education (NREN). It’s part of Red.es, which runs the .es domain. About 260 universities and research centers in Spain are connected through RedIRIS, which also provides Internet access to these institutions via Cogent and Level 3. It links to Europe’s high-speed GÉANT backbone for fast cross-border connectivity. RedIRIS also offers FTP mirrors, customized software, interconnection with the Eduroam wireless network, LISTSERV, a BlackList IP service, and IRIS-CERT for security incidents.
