Ranjit Maharaj
Ranjit Maharaj (4 January 1913 – 15 November 2000) was an Indian spiritual teacher in the Inchegeri Sampradaya, part of the Navnath tradition. He was a disciple of Siddharameshwar Maharaj.
Born on 4 January 1913, his father died when he was six. He met Siddharameshwar Maharaj in 1924 and was initiated by him the following year. In 1934, at age 21, he became a monk. In 1983, at age 70, he initiated his first disciple, Siddharameshwar Maharaj's granddaughter-in-law, and began to attract an international following. In 1996 he was invited to visit Germany, France, and the USA, and in the years that followed he visited the UK, Switzerland and Spain, until his death in 2000.
Ranjit Maharaj belonged to the Inchegiri Sampradaya. He helped translate, print and publish in English the spiritual classic Master of Self Realization (Adhyatma Dnyanacha Yogeshwar), containing the sayings of Siddharameshwar Maharaj, which were recorded by Nisargadatta Maharaj before Nisargadatta's own realization.
