Salman Farsi University of Kazerun is a public university in Kazerun, Fars Province, Iran. Founded in 1993, it is affiliated with the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology and is known as the western scientific hub of Fars.

History and name
The institution started as the Faculty of Teacher Training in 1993. It then became the Higher Education Center of Kazerun in 2003, was upgraded to the Kazerun University Complex in 2010, and finally became Salman Farsi University of Kazerun in 2011. It is named after Salman the Persian, a companion of the Prophet, who was born in Kazerun.

Students and staff
The university currently has about 2,000 students and more than 70 faculty members. Over 2,500 students have graduated from the university so far.

Campus and facilities
Construction of the campus began in the early 2000s on about 87 hectares in the west of Kazerun, near Payam Noor University. By 2022, several buildings—the Faculty of Basic Sciences, Central Self-Service, and an artificial turf field—were in operation, with more facilities such as classrooms, a new Technical and Engineering building, a dormitory, a student bazaar, and faculty housing under construction. The university operates a development foundation formed in 2022 to support growth.

Academic structure
Salman Farsi University has three faculties: Humanities, Basic Sciences, and Technical and Engineering. It offers programs through several departments, including English, Psychology, Persian Language and Literature; Mathematics and Computer Science; Physics and Engineering Physics; and Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Urban Engineering.

Research, culture, and libraries
The university hosts research institutes and knowledge centers, along with the Mirza Saleh Kazeruni Culture House for scientific and cultural activities and student publications. The Ayatollah Imani Library serves the university, with more than 29,000 printed books, about 90 publications, and two databases.

Community and collaborations
The Foundation of Supporters of Salman Farsi University of Kazerun was established in 2022 to aid development, with notable founders and board members. In recent years, there have been donations and partnerships, including a 2023 donation of a personal library by Ali Mohammad Moazzeni and a 2022 donation of 116 book volumes by Ali Hossein Sazmand. The university has signed several memoranda of understanding with other universities and institutions.

The current president of Salman Farsi University of Kazerun is Dr. Yahya Gordani.
