Randye Kaye is an American voice actor, author, radio host, actress, and singer based in Connecticut. She has worked in radio since 1990, most recently hosting on NPR affiliates WSHU-FM/AM; she previously spent many years on STAR 99.9 FM. She voices commercials for major brands and has narrated many children’s books and audiobooks for publishers like Audible and Tantor.

Her memoir, Ben Behind His Voices: One Family's Journey from the Chaos of Schizophrenia to Hope, was published in 2011. She also narrated the audiobook, which was nominated for a 2011 Listen Up Award, and a second edition of the audiobook was released in 2022. Kaye hosts two podcasts: The Life Talk Show and Schizophrenia: 3 Moms in the Trenches. Her second book, Happier Made Simple: Choose Your Words. Change Your Life., came out in 2022.

Kaye found a love for performance as a child in summer theater and was inspired by her parents’ Broadway albums. She studied at the University at Albany, earning a BA, and paid for college by singing and playing guitar at coffee houses. After college she returned to theater and improv, performing on tour and in New York City and Los Angeles; she even tap danced on stage with Ann Miller. She has acted in regional theatre and has appeared in productions such as The Guys, Guys and Dolls, Cabaret, and Nunsense. In 2011 she performed in a benefit cabaret with Broadway performers.

She is a member of SAG-AFTRA, Actors’ Equity Association, Mensa, The Authors’ Guild, and Theatre Artists Workshop. She began voice acting while pregnant and has since voiced dozens of commercials, medical scripts, and website narrations for brands including Burger King, Toshiba, Kohl’s, Hilton, and Verizon; her voice work also spans video games and live events.

Kaye has narrated dozens of children’s books since the 1990s and is the audiobook narrator of more than 170 titles, including her own books. She teaches acting and media, writes for various outlets, and works with mental health organizations such as NAMI. She lives in Trumbull, Connecticut, with her husband and two children, and is a member of Mensa.
