Rafi Reavis
Rafi Reavis is a Filipino-American basketball player who plays as a center or power forward for the Converge FiberXers in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He was born on July 27, 1977, in New York City and stands 6 feet 8 inches tall, weighing about 210 pounds.
He played college basketball at Coppin State University from 1995 to 1999. Reavis began his pro career with the San Juan Knights in the Metropolitan Basketball Association (MBA) in 2000. After the MBA folded in 2002, he entered the PBA draft and was selected second overall by the Coca-Cola Tigers.
In the PBA, Reavis has played for Coca-Cola Tigers, Barangay Ginebra Kings, and Purefoods/Magnolia brands (through several name changes) before joining Converge FiberXers in 2025. He has won 11 PBA championships with his teams, making him one of the league’s most successful players. He has also been chosen as a PBA All-Star three times (2006, 2017, 2018). His individual honors include the PBA Most Improved Player in 2003 and a spot on the PBA All-Defensive Team in 2018. He also won an MBA National Championship in 2000.
Personal life: Reavis’ father is Joselito Abundo, who hails from Koronadal, South Cotabato. Abundo moved to the United States when he was 17 and was later adopted by the Reavis family. He met Reavis’ mother, Laura Missouri, in New York. Abundo passed away in 1999 from prostate cancer. Reavis can speak Tagalog but often uses English in daily life.
