Radek Smoleňák
Radek Smoleňák (born December 3, 1986) is a Czech former professional ice hockey winger. He was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia, and is 6 ft 3 in tall, weighing 214 lb. He played left wing and shot left. Smoleňák’s pro career lasted from 2006 to 2026, ending with Rytíři Kladno in the Czech Extraliga. He was drafted 73rd overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning. Smoleňák played briefly in the NHL for the Chicago Blackhawks during the 2009–10 season, appearing in one regular-season game and earning a five-minute major for fighting. He also played in the 2009 pre-season with Chicago, scoring in Zürich. After being placed on waivers, the Lightning reclaimed him on October 11, 2009. In 2012 he signed with the Finnish team Lahti Pelicans. Over his career he played for many teams in Europe and North America, including Sparta Praha, Kladno, Ässät, Timrå IK, Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod, and Slovan Bratislava, among others, and he represented the Czech Republic internationally. In 2009 he received notable fan support in NHL All-Star voting with 10,471 write-in votes.
