Willyaroo is a former village on the southeastern outskirts of Strathalbyn in South Australia. It sits by the River Angas. The name is believed to be Aboriginal and means “to invoke a good harvest.” The area was known as New Hamburg until 1916, when it was renamed Willyaroo. It is in the Alexandrina Council, postcode 5255, and had a population of 387 at the 2016 census. It lies in the state electorate of Heysen and the federal division of Mayo. Nearby localities include Strathalbyn and Belvidere. Coordinates: 35°16′S 138°55′E.
