Quartz Creek (British Columbia)

Quartz Creek is a small creek in the Selkirk Mountains, in the West Kootenay region of British Columbia, Canada. It starts just west of the town of Ymir, climbs a short distance up Round Mountain, and flows into the Salmo River at Ymir. The creek was mined for gold in the 1860s. Today, Quartz Creek is the drinking-water source for the town of Ymir, and a filtration system was installed in the early 2010s to treat the water.
