Qabasin
Qabasin (Arabic: قبّاسين; Turkish: Başköy) is a town in northern Syria, northeast of Al-Bab. It is part of the Al-Bab Subdistrict in the Al-Bab District of Aleppo Governorate. The population was 11,382 in 2004. The town is inhabited by Turkmen and Arabs, and Arima lies to the northeast.
During the Syrian civil war, Qabasin was first captured by the Syrian opposition and later by ISIS. On 23 February 2017, the Syrian National Army and the Turkish Armed Forces captured Qabasin from ISIS, along with nearby B'zaa and al-Bab, as part of the Euphrates Shield operation.
