Pukhrayan is a town and municipality in Kanpur Dehat district, Uttar Pradesh, India. It sits in Amrodha Block, on National Highway 25, about 2 km from Bhognipur and southwest of Mati. The town lies at about 26.23°N, 79.85°E and is around 124 meters above sea level. It is about 22 km from the district headquarters Mati. The Yamuna River is roughly 15 km to the south, and the Ganga is about 65 km to the east.

Pukhrayan has a main railway station on the Kanpur–Jhansi line of the North Central Railway, in the Jhansi Division. There are bus services from Pukhrayan to Jhansi, Delhi, and Gujarat. The Lucknow–Jhansi National Highway passes through the town.

As of 2021, Pukhrayan’s population was 65,503. About 51% of residents are men and 49% are women. The literacy rate is very high, around 88% overall, with about 85% of men and 77% of women able to read and write. Around 20% of the population is under 6 years old.
