Psychrobacter pygoscelis is a species of bacteria. It is Gram-negative and rod-shaped, and belongs to the genus Psychrobacter. It sits within the Bacteria domain, phylum Pseudomonadota, class Gammaproteobacteria, order Pseudomonadales, and family Moraxellaceae. The species Psychrobacter pygoscelis was described by Kämpfer and colleagues in 2020, with the type strain I-STPP5b. It was isolated from the trachea of a penguin (Pygoscelis papua) in Fildes Bay.
