Psycho is a 2019 Korean-language single by Red Velvet. It’s the lead track from The ReVe Festival: Finale, the last part of their ReVe Festival trilogy. The song blends R&B with pop, trap, and future bass and runs about 3 minutes and 31 seconds. It was written by Kenzie, Druski, Ejae, and Cazzi Opeia, with Druski and Yoo Young-jin handling the arrangement.

The lyrics tell of a rocky, on-and-off relationship, with a mood that feels both intense and complicated. The music video has a Gothic, Victorian vibe and was released the same day as the single. The MV version adds some extra synth and a string melody that isn’t in the streaming version. The video was directed by O and choreographed by Mina Myoung and Bailey Sok.

Psycho received strong praise for its smooth, sultry delivery and dramatic production. Critics called it one of the best K-pop songs of 2019. It performed well on charts around the world, hitting number two on Korea’s Gaon Digital Chart, reaching the Billboard World Digital Songs chart’s top spot in the U.S., and charting in New Zealand and the UK. It later earned a platinum certification in Korea for streaming.

Red Velvet performed Psycho live for the first time at the ReVe Festival FINALE party on December 22, 2019, and later performed as a quartet after Wendy’s injury at the Seoul Music Awards. The song remained a staple in their live sets and even appeared in SMTOWN’s online concert in 2021.

In 2024, SM Classics released an orchestral version of Psycho with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra.
