Richard Jerome "Rome" Chambers (August 31, 1875 – August 30, 1902) was a left-handed pitcher from Weaverville, North Carolina. He played in one major league game in 1900 for the Boston Beaneaters. In that game, he pitched four innings, gave up five earned runs, and struck out two. He entered in the sixth inning to relieve Bill Dinneen against the New York Gothams.

His nickname Rome came from a 1899 stint with an independent team in Rome, Georgia. He had starred for the Weaverville College baseball team in the late 1890s. After spring training with Boston in 1900, he did not secure a regular spot in the rotation. He later played in the minor leagues for teams in Toronto and Indianapolis before leaving baseball. Chambers is often described as Western North Carolina's first homegrown MLB player. He batted and threw left-handed and was born and died in Weaverville, NC, dying at age 26, one day before his 27th birthday.
