PACT is a Canadian organization that oversees, promotes, and advocates for the English-speaking professional theatre sector. Founded in 1976 and based in Toronto, it has more than 100 member theatre organizations from every province and the Yukon. PACT supports the sector, helps its members collaborate, and negotiates labor agreements, including the Canadian Theatre Agreement (CTA) with the Canadian Actors’ Equity Association (CAEA). It also has deals with the Associated Designers of Canada, the Playwrights Guild of Canada, and APASQ. In 2017, PACT and CAEA launched Not in Our Space!, a campaign to stop bullying and harassment in theatre workplaces, with standards for conduct and reporting guidelines.
