Drinking from the Sun is the sixth studio album by Australian hip-hop group Hilltop Hoods. It was released on 9 March 2012, runs 41 minutes and 24 seconds, and came out on the Golden Era label. The album features producers Jaytee, K21, One Above, Pokerbeats, and Suffa.

The first single, I Love It, which features Sia, came out on 25 November 2011. The album started strong, debuting at number one on the Australian Albums Chart and going gold on its first day. It later reached double platinum in Australia and earned four ARIA Award nominations in 2012, with the group winning Best Urban Album.

A notable feature of the album is a three-part opener and closer called The Thirst, all using the same instrumental. Part 1 includes a verse about the group’s return after 2009’s State of the Art. Part 2 uses interview clips to explain the album title, and Part 3 has a verse from Suffa with a voice saying they were recording enough music for two albums.

The album also includes guest appearances from Black Thought of The Roots on Living in Bunkers and Chali 2na on Speaking in Tongues. The band aimed to create something different yet unifying for Australian hip-hop, and the video for Rattling the Keys to the Kingdom features many Australian hip-hop artists.

Other singles released from the album are Speaking in Tongues (April 17, 2012), Shredding the Balloon (July 20, 2012), and Rattling the Keys to the Kingdom (September 20, 2012). Drinking from the Sun was Hilltop Hoods’ third consecutive number-one album.
