Problem (Natalia Kills song)
Problem is a song by English singer Natalia Kills from her second album, Trouble (2013). It was released as the album’s lead single on 12 March 2013. The track blends pop rock with a grungy garage rock influence, marking a stylistic shift for Kills. It runs 3:43, is in common time, and is pitched in E-flat minor at a tempo of 85 BPM, with a vocal range from E♭3 to B♭4 and an E♭ pedal throughout.
The song has been used in films such as Pitch Perfect 2 and We’re the Millers.
The music video, directed by Natalia Kills and Guillaume Doubet with Jacob Abrams as director of photography, was filmed in Los Angeles and released on 24 June 2013. It features Canadian model Adonis Bosso as Kills’s love interest and opens with police sirens. The video includes various intimate scenes, including a moment of sexual activity in a public phone booth, and climaxes with Kills setting her fur coat on fire. It ends with a young girl spray-painting a wall with Kills’s face and the word “problem.”
In Kills’s discography, “Problem” follows “Kill My Boyfriend” (2012) and precedes “Saturday Night” (2013).
