Premada Putri is a 1957 Kannada-language film directed, produced, and starring R. Nagendra Rao. It also features Kalyan Kumar, Sriranjani Jr., and Udaykumar. Cinematography was by R. N. K. Prasad, marking his debut. The film won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Kannada at the 5th National Film Awards. Music was composed by H. R. Padmanabha Shastry and T. G. Lingappa, with lyrics by R. N. Jayagopal and Prabhakar Shastry. A Tamil version, Anbe Deivam, was shot simultaneously with a slightly different cast.

Plot: Mohan Rao and his wife Sushilamma are a happy couple. Their friend Parvathi is loved by her husband Shankarappa, who is poor and a thief driven by money. Their daughter is Sarasa. One night jewels are stolen from Mohan Rao’s house, and Shankarappa is caught trying to pawn them. Parvathi seeks help; Sushilamma learns her husband may be involved. Mohan Rao tells the police that the complaint was false and that Sushilamma had unknowingly given the jewels away. Despite this, Shankarappa continues his crimes. In the end, Shankarappa and Parvathi are arrested for murder and dacoity. Sarasa is placed in an orphanage, and Sushilamma and Mohan Rao decide to adopt her. Sushilamma then informs Parvathi of the news by letter.
