Porter Township, Clarion County, Pennsylvania
Porter Township is a rural area in southern Clarion County, Pennsylvania. It had 1,287 residents in 2020, down from 1,348 in 2010, with an estimated 1,269 in 2022. The township covers about 44.5 square miles (115 square kilometers), of which 43.9 square miles (113.7 km2) are land and 0.6 square miles (1.5 km2) are water, giving a population density of about 29 people per square mile.
Porter Township sits along the southern edge of Clarion County and is bordered to the south by Redbank Creek, which forms the line with Armstrong County. The borough of New Bethlehem touches the township’s southeastern corner.
The area was settled around 1800 and became an incorporated township in 1839. It observes Eastern Time (EST in winter and EDT in summer).
