KPAS (1490 AM) was a radio station in Banning, California. It began on November 9, 1949. In September 1953, the FCC approved transferring the KPAS license from Byron-Wood Motors to Henry Chester Darwin for $6,100. The station shut down on April 21, 1972, and its license was deleted on November 27. Later, Frederick R. Cote used the same facilities to start a new station, licensed in 1981 as KGUD, which is now KMET.
