Pointless is an Australian game show based on the British version. It aired on Network 10 from 23 July 2018 to 10 May 2019, hosted by Mark Humphries and featuring Andrew Rochford. The show was produced by Endemol Shine Australia and filmed at Network 10 Studios in Pyrmont, Sydney. It ran for two seasons and 184 episodes, with each episode about 22 minutes long.

How it works: Three teams of two try to give correct but obscure answers. Before each show, 100 people are asked 100 seconds of questions to create a survey. In each round, teams earn points for any survey answers they match; if they give an answer that none of the surveyed people said, it’s a “pointless” answer and scores zero. If an answer is wrong, the team scores 100 points. The goal is to have the lowest score and avoid elimination. The final two teams face a head-to-head round, then a final round to win the jackpot.

Jackpot and prizes: The cash prize starts at $2000. Each pointless answer adds $500 to the jackpot. If no one wins, the prize rolls over to the next show and increases by $2000. The biggest jackpot won was $24,000 on 20 September 2018, after which the prize resets to $2000.

The Australian version used three teams (not four like in Britain). Right before it launched, trials were held in New South Wales. In March 2019, Network 10 announced Pointless was cancelled and replaced by Celebrity Name Game with Grant Denyer, which ran until May 2020.
